SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The much talked about gray SU basketball jerseys have arrived at local sports apparel stores.

Manny’s was one of the first shops on the hill to get the limited edition gear in stock Tuesday. SU is one of nine teams selected by Nike to receive the “Hyper Elite Platinum Performance” gear. They feature new titling and a prominent gray color scheme.

Some fans wishing to stand out in the crowd scurried to Manny’s as soon as the word got out.

“They called me on the phone and told me they were in and we have been waiting for them for a while. I know they changed the jerseys, so my husband is a big SU fan, my whole family is. So I bought four jerseys, a jacket, two hats and didn’t get the shorts, but I think the family will be happy tonight,” said Lori Burdick.

"You have to have gone to so many final four games or won a national title to be in their elite program. This a part of their elite program and it's a privilege to have these jerseys," said Bill Nester, Manny’s store manager.

The gray jerseys currently retail at over a hundred dollars each. Syracuse will wear them for at least one game, against the University of South Florida on February 22nd.
