BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- We'll know by the end of the day who the new owners are of two dozen properties in Binghamton. Among the properties are some of the most historic homes in the city.

The sites include the old Stone Opera House on Chenango Street, as well as a Riverside Drive mansion known as the 'Jenkins House.'

City officials say the properties are currently operated by several LLCs, but are owned by the same individual. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes and utilities are owed on many of the buildings, while others have been divided into multiple apartments against certain zoning restrictions.

Some officials are worried about what may happen to them at the auction.
