ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- An Iraq war veteran got some helping hands for the renovation of his Bridgeport home.

Purple Heart award recipient Sergeant Jason Moseley was honored Monday by the RenovatingHope program for his exemplary military service.

Moseley sustained several injuries in Iraq and also suffers from post traumatic stress disorder.

RenovatingHope is a not-for-profit organization that heads up extensive renovations of veterans' homes around the country. The goal is to put veterans in a better place to allow them to move forward.

"Hopefully this winter, we know for a fact he'll be warmer because the house is totally insulated now. And we're honored to serve him because he did so much for us, he gave for us and that's the name of the game," said Paul Hoffecker, RenovatingHope Founder and CEO.

Organizations like the Home Depot Foundation, the Penfed Foundation and many other volunteers contributed to the renovation process.
