Students report suspicious incidents

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A letter was sent home to some parents in the North Syracuse School District after suspicious incidents near two of the elementary schools.

The letter was sent to parents of children at Cicero Elementary and Roxboro Road Middle.

On Monday, a Cicero Elementary student reported that an older heavy-set man was taking pictures of children playing basketball. He was driving a black car.

The same vehicle was reported a week earlier, having stopped to ask some boys for directions. The boys ran up to their garage to their mother and the person drove away.

On Thursday, a student at Roxboro Middle reported seeing a large white box-type van with tinted windows. The student believed the driver was watching him.

The district is urging parents to remind their children to always be cautious when approached by strangers for any reason.

If you or your child knows of any additional information regarding either incident, please contact the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department at (315) 435-2111.
