ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- There is some major support at the Syracuse Nationals this weekend for the local battle against child abuse. It's an annual auction of work by some of the nation's top pin stripers.
The money raised goes to Syracuse's McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center.
The people who run the center say it now adds up to their second largest fundraising event of the year.
“It's amazing. It's obviously become almost like a family for us. They come in for the weekend on their own dime. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to McMahon/Ryan. I can't say enough for these men and women who come in for us every year. And it keeps getting bigger and bigger and it's great. It's awesome,” said Julie Cecile, Executive Director of McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center.
Last year, the auction helped to raise about $63,000 for McMahon/Ryan.
