ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Bikers from across the region, from Central and Northern New York to the Southern Tier, hit the road Saturday to help raise money for the March of Dimes.

Motorcyclists headed out from 10 different starting points, all converging on Jamesville Beach Park in Onondaga County as part of the 20th annual Bikers for Babies event.

Organizers say the event helps to break down some of the stereotypes about bikers.

"Motorcyclists are amazing. I mean, look at this weather and what they've braved to come here and raise money to help save children that they may never meet in the future," said organizer Ben Rabin.

Money raised through Bikers for Babies goes to support mothers and toward research into premature births.
