Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center closing two wards
ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two wards at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center in Utica are set to close. The Office of Mental Health will be undertaking the closures as well as moving one additional ward to Hutchings Psychiatric Center in Syracuse. They will begin preparing for the move right away, but it won't actually take place for at least 30 days.
The OMH expects the total number of adult inpatient beds to decrease at Mohawk Valley but the center will continue operation of its other existing services.
