CORNING, N.Y. – Corning Democratic mayoral candidate Frank Coccho cast his ballot Tuesday afternoon. The 65-year-old retired Corning Incorporated employee served as the city's Mayor for one term in 2006 and 2007. He ran for re-election, but was defeated by current mayor Tom Reed.

Coccho has served the city in different roles over 22 years, including Councilman and Deputy Mayor. He says if elected, his top priority is also to fix the city's roads, but Coccho says his plan would complete the project sooner than his opponent.

Coccho says it's been an excellent campaign and he's gotten great response from the community.

"I just feel good. Our volunteers are out in full force, even today they were out hand billing, passing out our literature, so people are stopping by headquarters. I feel good, I'm optimistic," Coccho said.

Coccho and his supporters will be waiting for the election results tonight at Lando's in Corning. Both candidates say they're proud to have given the city a "clean" race and encourage voters to keep heading out to the polls.
