New York's Covered Bridges

NY's Covered Bridges

The summer storms and floods that took so much from so many, also took something from each one of us. National treasures that lay hidden quietly on our State’s landscape, that almost literally bridge the past and the present. Lost in the raging rivers were two of New York State’s historic covered bridges, symbols of a time gone by that we will never get back.

Ten thousand members of the Baby Boomer generation turn 65 every day in America. By 2030, they will account for 20 percent of the total U.S. population. And while they may be healthy now, the sheer numbers could place tremendous strain on our already frail healthcare system. YNN Reporter Katie Gibas produced this ambitious 7-part series on the dynamics of our aging population and a system that could soon find itself in critical condition.

Woodstock was not the first large scale concert of its time. There had been the Newport Folk Festival and the Monterey pop festival, but in many ways, Woodstock would be the last, as art and commerce would start to go their separate ways.
