A Syracuse man is seriously injured after being hit in the head with a hammer. Syracuse police say Bradley Washington, 51, was hit in the head twice on the 2000 block of South Salina Street Friday afternoon.

Game time is fast approaching for the Syracuse Orange as they prepare to take on Vermont in their first round game in Buffalo. Our Brad Vivacqua is outside the arena and joins us with more from there.

On Friday night, the SU orange will square off in their first game of the NCAA tournament. Teams from across the country started arriving at the arena in Buffalo earlier Thursday to get a practice round in before Friday's matchups. Our Brad Vivacqua is traveling with the Orange and joined us from outside the HSBC arena with more.
A number 16 seed has never beaten a number one seed in the NCAA men's basketball tournament and the Syracuse Orange don't plan to change that. Mark Larson has a full report from Buffalo.
Freshman Kayla Alexander scored 27 points and fellow rookie Carmen Tyson-Thomas added 17 points and 13 rebounds as the SU women's basketball team routed Harvard 87-68 in the first round of the WNIT tournament.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy has announced his campaign for governor. Speaking in Albany on Friday, the lifelong Democrat discussed his decision to switch parties and his plans to challenge Rick Lazio for the Republican nomination for governor. Capital Tonight's Kaitlyn Ross was there for the announcement and has the details.

An 11-year-old boy died at the hospital early Thursday morning, after being pulled from a man-made pond in Rochester Wednesday evening. Relatives told YNN that J'son Wilson died around 2 a.m.
