Motorcyclists hit the road for the ARC
ONEIDA, N.Y. - Engines were firing on all cylinders at the 6th annual Ride for the ARC Saturday. The yearly motorcycle ride is held to benefit Madison Cortland ARC, an agency that supports people with developmental disabilities.
This year's ride had two routes: One that started in Oneida and another in Homer. Both finished up in DeRuyter where a fundraiser lunch was held.
Though all benefits from the ride go towards the ARC, organizers say the ride is more about raising awareness than money.

"It's really about making sure the community understands the needs of those that are less fortunate than us in the community. So, if we end up making $5 a rider, that's just fine," said Eric Stickels, secretary for Madison Cortland ARC board of directors.
