NORTH COUNTRY, N.Y. -- Conservative candidate for Congress Doug Hoffman says the race for the 23rd Congressional District is officially over.
On Monday, we told you Hoffman would not challenge the results of the 23rd District election with a recount. Tuesday, he said he won't make any challenges, claiming it wouldn't be enough to edge his opponent and eventual winner, democrat Bill Owens.
Hoffman issued a statement thanking his supporters and offering good wishes to Owens.
Hoffman does say he'll continue to stay active in politics, but didn't say if he'd consider running for the seat again next year.
