NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade is a tradition dating back 83 years and once again this year, the Oneida Indian Nation took part in the fun.

The tribe brought a float down to New York City called "True Spirit of Thanksgiving." The giant Turtle symbolizes Mother Earth. A 30-foot White Pine tree symbolizing the Tree of Peace grows from the Turtle's back and the eagles atop the Tree symbolizes the vigilance required to maintain peace.

The Oneidas also entered this float in last year's Macy's parade.
