MOHAWK VALLEY, N.Y. -- The largest employer in two Central New York counties is handing out some hefty bonuses. The Oneida Indian Nation says business has been good and even though the recession hit the gambling industry hard on a national level, the Oneida's Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona did well.
This week, the Indian Nation announced $5 million in bonuses to be split among almost about 90 percent of its employees. With 4,800 workers, the Nation is the largest employer in Oneida and Madison counties.
