People in Western New York are shocked to learn police are looking for a doctor in connection to a fatal shooting Wednesday at the Erie County Medical Center. YNN's Kate McGowan has the latest details.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Police are still searching for a trauma surgeon they'd like to question following a fatal shooting in Buffalo. Police are warning the public that the surgeon, Dr. Timothy Jorden, a former Army Special Forces weapons expert, may be armed and dangerous.

Jacqueline Wisniewski, 33, a receptionist at the hospital was shot and killed Wednesday morning. The shooting prompted a lockdown of the Erie County Medical Center for more than four hours.

A SWAT team later converged on the doctor's home, but by Wednesday night, they determined the house was empty and left. Officials declined to say what the relationship is between Jorden and Wisniewski. Jorden's next door neighbor, however, said she believes Wisniewski lived at the home with Jorden at some point.

"He was not an unstable man. He was a great neighbor, a brilliant surgeon, from all aspects you would think that he's normal," said Laura Blain, Jorden’s neighbor.

Police say Jorden may have lost some weight and grown facial hair over the last several days. That rapid change of appearance could complicate the search effort.
