PAMELIA, N.Y. -- Authorities had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue the driver of a car after a crash in Jefferson County. It happened just before 7 a.m. on State Route 11 in the Town of Pamelia.
Officials said a pickup truck was backing out of a driveway when it hit the car. The impact spun the car sideways and it crashed into a telephone pole.
The driver of the car was flown to a Syracuse hospital by helicopter with what are believed to be not life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Investigators say tickets will be issued in the crash.
