ITHACA, N.Y. -- Ithaca Police are investigating a robbery at a downtown business. It happened at Mayer's Smokeshop and Newsstand on East State Street around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.

According to police, a man pulled out a metal object and told the clerk that she was being robbed. He then told her to get down on the floor while he took money from the register.

The suspect is described as 5'10, with a slim build, clean shaven and well dressed. He was last seen headed north on Aurora Street.
