SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two men face drunk driving and other charges following two separate crashes in Syracuse.
The first one happened on Route 690 East near South Midler Avenue just before 11 Saturday night. Police say Charles Maneri Junior, 48, of North Syracuse hit both the guide rail and the concrete barrier on the road. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital as a precaution.
Maneri is charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI, and reckless driving.
About three hours later, police were called to another crash, this on Arthur Street at Elliot Street. According to investigators, Isaac Duffy, 42, of Syracuse hit a utility pole and tried to run from the scene.
Duffy is now charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI, resisting arrest and reckless driving.
