CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two people were airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse after a serious car accident in Cayuga County.
Crews were called to the intersection of Humphrey and Finches Corners roads in the Town of Sterling just after 1 p.m. That's where police say two cars collided, sending both into a nearby patch of woods.
Both drivers, a 20-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man, were injured.
Police say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The cause remains under investigation.
