UTICA, N.Y. -- There's a case of baby fever at the Utica Zoo. The zoo has announced three new additions to their family.
A California Sea Lion pup was born at the zoo on June 15th. The female pup weighed in at 17 pounds at birth and is now up to 27 pounds. Zoo officials say she'll be spending time learning to swim with her mother and zoo staff.
Earlier in June, the zoo's African Lions got two new additions. A male and female cub were born on June 6th. They'll be joining their parents and big brother, Donovan, who turned one last May.
"It's neat to see the interaction. A lion pride is really a lot to watch, it's like a family. I sometimes get a little lost in the moment and am standing there watching them and all of a sudden I'm like 'I have to get back to my desk, I have things to do!'" said Utica Zoo Executive Director Andria De Lisle-Heath.
All of the babies are expected to be on display to the public in mid-August.
