HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Air Force helicopters rescued two people after a plane crash in northern Herkimer County. It happened Thursday morning on Gull Lake.

State Police say both people on board were rescued successfully and both are said to be fine.

Black Hawk helicopters were called in from the 106th Rescue unit on Long Island because of the remote location of Gull Lake. The location made it difficult to find the plane as well.

There's no word yet on what caused the plane to go down.
