ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Vernon man has been accused of raping a child.

Officials with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center say Ryan Whitman was arrested Friday following an investigation stemming from last month.

Whitman has been charged with first degree rape. He is being held at the Oneida County Correctional Facility on $75,000 bail.

The case is being turned over to the county District Attorney’s office.
