Woman in critical condition following motorcycle crash

HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A woman is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash in Herkimer County. It happened around 9:45 a.m. Thursday on Route 28 near Hollywood Hills Road in the Town of Webb.

Police say Kirsty Sutherland, 47, of Inlet, was found in a ditch after she hit a log near a rock embankment, crashing her motorcycle. She was airlifted to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica before being taken to a Syracuse hospital, where she is in critical condition.

Police say Sutherland is the owner of Ozzie's Cafe in Old Forge and they believe she was on her way to work.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
