UTICA, N.Y. -- Congressman Richard Hanna will serve another term in Congress in the new 22nd Congressional District.

Hanna beat Democratic challenger Dan Lamb in Tuesday night's election.

Lamb says he is going to take some time off to regroup and decide what he wants to do next in his career, but says he is proud of the grassroots campaign that he ran.

Hanna called Lamb a gentlemen and a dedicated resident of Upstate New York, who he looks forward to seeing often. He says he's looking forward to tackling spending, education reform and getting know the people of the Southern Tier.

"We are going to keep our presence there full time as soon as we can after the first of the year," Hanna said. "And we look forward to meeting and knowing all the people who wonder who they just elected. We intend to prove you did the right thing."

"You know there is nothing I would do differently," Lamb said. "That's a kind of remarkable feeling, knowing, you did something as well as you can possibly do something. It's about all you can ask."

Hanna made another speech Tuesday night, criticizing the partisanship in Congress. He called for legislators in the upcoming term to be more willing to work together.
