DERUYTER, N.Y. -- State Route 13 is back open in the village of DeRuyter. Madison County Sheriff's deputies say an accident Monday night sheared off a utility pole along Route 13 near Carey Road.

No one was hurt but wires were down on the road, causing power outages for several hours.

National Grid's crews are downstate dealing with Sandy's aftermath, so it caused a slight delay in repairs up here.
