ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The lights are back on at Onondaga Lake Park. The 23rd year of Lights on the Lake kicked off Tuesday with the annual parkway walk.

Wednesday night, people can also bring their pets and check out the two mile stretch on foot for free. The first day cars are allowed is Thursday.

This year's show features more than a dozen new pieces and 285 displays in all. It's a huge undertaking for county officials who say assembly takes twice as long as the event itself.

"We started this process developing it on September 10. So it's taken us a couple of months to set it up. We operate it for roughly a month then it will take us another month, month and a half to take it down," sad Onondaga County Parks and Recreation Commissioner Bill Lansley.

If you want to save some money on tickets, you only have through Wednesday to pick up $6 tickets at Wegmans. Full price at the gate is $10 Monday through Thursday and $15 on the weekends.
