GENESEE COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Western New York woman who was found guilty of beating a 70-year-old Wal-Mart greeter in Batavia last Christmas Eve is headed to prison.

Jaquetta Simmons, 26, was sentenced Wednesday morning to five years in state prison.

Both Simmons and the victim, Grace Suozzi, say the incident has changed their lives.

"I feel anxious, depressed, sad, frightened. I lose my concentration. I'm not comfortable in public places," Suozzi said.

Simmons said, "I just want to say how truly sorry I am about the incident that happened. I hate that Grace and her family had to endure all of the things that they're going through right now."

Simmons faced a maximum sentence of seven years in prison.
