BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. -- A head on crash in Towanda left two people dead and a third in the hospital. Officials say it happened Tuesday around 10:15 a.m. on State Route 220.

Witnesses told police Scott Halboerster, 44, was attempting to pass a vehicle in a no passing zone when he struck another vehicle head on. He and the driver of the other vehicle, John Ambrosone, 65, of Hammondsport, were killed.

A minor was also in the vehicle with Halboerster. She was airlifted to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. There's no word on her condition.

Halboerster was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
