Jon Bon Jovi speaks out after daughter's alleged heroin overdose

By: Web Staff

CLINTON, N.Y. -- Rocker Jon Bon Jovi is now talking publicly about his daughter's recent alleged drug overdose.

We reported earlier this month that 19-year-old Stephanie Bongiovi was hospitalized after a friend called 911 saying she had overdosed. It happened at Hamilton College in the Village of Clinton where Bongiovi is a student.

Following the incident, Bongiovi and her friend faced drug charges which were later dropped because of a law that protects anyone who overdoses or Good Samaritans who call for help from criminal charges.

In an interview with KTTV out of Los Angeles, Bongiovi's famous rock star father addressed situation saying, "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous, but if you don't take it too seriously, it's a great way to make a living. And then life goes on. Things happen. This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."
