ANNSVILLE, N.Y. -- A family lost everything after fire destroyed their Annsville home.

Family members say they woke up to flames in their home on Martin Court around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames. They had to wait about an hour for National Grid to turn off the electricity as live wires kept them from putting out the flames.

Three adults and four children lived in the home. They were all able to escape without serious injury.

"According to the home owner, they had several furnace malfunctions and they observed fire from the furnace room and they got out. They did get slightly burned on their way out, getting their children out of the fire," said Mike Drummond, Taberg Third Assistant Fire Chief.

The family says they were renting the mobile home. They don't believe it was insured.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
