Dog fatally shot during fight at Syracuse home

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse Police are looking for a man accused of shooting a dog at a house party. It happened at a party on the 200 block of Amhurst Avenue a little after 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police say an argument started over payment for the DJ. When the fight spilled out into the street, someone brought out a pit bull. Police say a man shot and killed the dog.

One man was also hurt during the fight. Police say Jamil Washington was taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
