Two teenagers arrested for shots fired incident

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two teenagers will be arraigned in Syracuse City Court today after being arrested for a shots fired incident. Two Syracuse police officers were driving in the 700 block of South Salina Street around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday when they say they heard sounds of gunshots. It came from two groups of young people in a Burger King parking lot.

Delvon Harrison, 16, attempted to toss a handgun and run away, but was taken into custody after a short foot chase. A second teen, Jamar Shepard, 16, was also found in possession of a semi-automatic handgun. Shell casings found at the scene matched Shepard's gun.

Shepard and Harrison are both charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.

No one was hurt in the incident.
