BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- No decision following an afternoon of jury deliberations in the murder trial of a Binghamton man.

Joseph Ross- Jones is charged with second degree murder in the death of Daniel Martinez last October.

The prosecution claims Ross-Jones and another man, Daniel Doherty, killed Martinez because they owed him drug money.

During closing arguments Tuesday morning, the defense argued that Daniel Doherty lied about Ross-Jones' involvement in the murder to secure a plea deal.

The defense asked the jury to disregard Doherty's testimony incriminating Ross-Jones. But the District Attorney said all the evidence points to Ross-Jones' guilt and urged the jury to consider the facts in the case.

The jury did ask to have portions of some testimony read back to them Tuesday afternoon.

Jury deliberations continue Wednesday morning.
