All twelves for baby

It's a birthday no one will likely forget. Being born on Wednesday makes it 12/12/12. But for one new family in Binghamton, the coincidence goes beyond the special date. Tamara Lindstrom has more.

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- For first time parents Jordan and Lindsey Pigeon, their precious daughter is nothing short of amazing.

"It's crazy. It's a new experience. I'm just happy," said Jordan Pigeon.

After five-and-a-half hours of labor, little Melody Jane was born a healthy eight pounds, four ounces and although she wasn't due until next week, she got a very special birthday: December 12th, 2012 or 12/12/12.

"We joked about it at first and then it happened. It was pretty crazy," Jordan Pigeon said.

"They were all joking. I did not find anything funny at that time. But they were all joking about it and then there you go," Lindsey Pigeon said.

"With more than a thousand babies born at the hospital each year, the birthday alone isn't that surprising. But it's the time of delivery that makes this one so unique.

Jordan Pigeon said, "Well, we had a baby born at 12:12 on 12/12/12."

No planning involved. She was born at 12:12 p.m. It's a birthday her family will never forget.

"Ever. And neither will she. It's neat," Lindsey Pigeon said.

It's clear, her mother says, the baby's lucky number is 12.

The proud new parents say Melody comes from a long line of musicians, for whom she's named.
