Police release name of teen homicide victim

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The name of the teenage homicide victim killed on Syracuse's east side Wednesday night has been released.

Police say Eddie Dozier Jr., 17, was discovered behind the Parkside Commons apartments on Croly Street shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say an argument happened in the area just before the man was found.

The cause of death is still under investigation. An autopsy is being performed by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
