Syracuse police investigate two robberies

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Two robberies have Syracuse police searching for suspects. The first happened at about 6:30 p.m. at Grant Village.

Police say a man was a walking his dog near Lea Lane and Village Drive when three males asked him for a cigarette and then attacked him. They took his wallet and CD player, and were last seen running toward Edtim Road.

The second robbery happened two hours later on the 800 block of Hawley Avenue. A man told police that four men approached him and asked him to help them light a cigarette. The victim says he was hit over the head by a handgun and the suspects stole money and four pairs of kids shoes that were still in the boxes. The suspects were last seen running toward Burnet Avenue.
