SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A group of students are coming together to promote peace during the holidays.

Ten students known as the Rosary Ten from the Most Holy Rosary School have organized donations and services to help others and shine a positive light on their community.

Wednesday, the Rosary Ten called on their Syracuse community members to help spread the peace by participating in Light a Candle for Peace.

Organizers say by lighting just one candle, you can join the pledge to spread and help maintain peace.

"We hope that everyone at this season can remember to take a moment and have peace in their hearts and peace for all fellow men," event organizer Cheryl Hardick said.

The Most Holy Rosary students also recently donated goods to Project Hospitality to help families affected by Superstorm Sandy.
