REGIONAL -- Strong winds across the northeast are causing significant airport delays which affect most airports in our region.

Flights leaving Syracuse, Binghamton, Elmira and Ithaca are all reporting lengthy departure delays.

Most notably, travelers can experience delays of two or more hours if traveling to one of the following airports: Philadelphia, Newark, Teterboro, La Guardia and JFK.

If you are flying to any of these destinations, you should call ahead to check the status of your flight.
