JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests in connection with a string of identity thefts and larcenies in the area.

Deputies say Nathan Howard, 23, also known as Daniel, and Ashley Perlmutter, 23, have been charged with grand larceny, identity theft, and petit larceny. Howard has also been charged with forgery and criminal impersonation, for giving a false name to authorities.

They add that Howard is a fugitive from Colorado, where he's charged with similar offenses.

YNN aired an image of Howard on Wednesday, after State Troopers received a tip from Wal-Mart security in Watertown. Deputies are anticipating further charges as the investigation continues.
