CENTRAL NEW YORK -- Two campaigns are launched to celebrate Dunkin Donuts' history in Syracuse and to help save lives.

The store launched a "Celebrate 81" campaign Friday as a way to celebrate its first store in Syracuse in 1981. Customers can expect to find promotions like an 81 cent coffee along with contests this month in the Syracuse area.

In addition, the annual "Give a Pint, Get a Pound" campaign encourages blood donations during the month of January. All blood donors will receive a coupon for a free pound of coffee.

"It's very important to give back to the community and we look forward to doing it every year. And, it's very special for us to be part of this great program," said Lane Rodgers, Dunkin' Brands Operations Director.

"They've donated 435,000 pounds of coffee which has potentially impacted one point three million patients both in Central New York and across the northeast so it's a significant impact that Dunkin' is making," said Maureen Wellman, American Red Cross Communications Manager.

All blood donors in Central New York this month are also eligible to win 81 pounds of coffee.

Dunkin' will soon be opening its 81st restaurant in the Syracuse area.
