ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Onondaga County Sheriff's office has released details about the man who died in a crash along Old Liverpool Road on Friday.
Deputies say the Nigerian national was living in the U.S. after stealing the identity of a North Carolina man. The man was able to get a New York drivers license.
Detectives are working with the State Department to locate and contact the family.
The cause of the fire appears to be accidental or mechanical. Deputies believe the victim was disoriented by the fire and couldn't escape the car.
