CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- A Madison County man is "Set for Life" after winning at least $5 million on a lottery scratch off ticket.

James Mason of Canastota was presented with a ceremonial check Tuesday at the Express Mart store that he bought the winning ticket in. Mason bought the ticket earlier this month when he stopped to get milk.

"Scratched a Set for Life and seen the coin so I kinda said ‘ah it's only $10 who cares,’ you know. Scratched the other numbers got down to the coin and seen the life and almost crapped my pants," said Mason.

Mason gets $172,000 a year for the rest of his life. He will use the money to take care of his family.
