HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Herkimer County man has admitted to causing a fatal crash during a police chase last year.

Daniel Conklin pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter, second degree assault and unlawfully fleeing a police officer.

Back in May, Conklin led police on a high speed chase before crashing into another car in the Town of Schuyler. Gail Pietruska, 65, of Frankfort, was killed in that crash.

Prosecutors say Conklin also threw a pregnant passenger out of his vehicle before taking off. He could get up to eight years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 2nd.
