Two injured in multi-car crash

TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. -- State Police in Ithaca say speed on slippery roads caused a three car crash near Cortland. It happened Monday on Mclean Road.

Police said 21-year-old Allyssa Patak of Deer Park lost control of her vehicle and crossed over into the other lane hitting 29-year-old Robert Smith of Groton. A third vehicle was hit by debris from a broken windshield.

Patak was seriously injured and taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Smith was taken to Cortland Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

It's not clear at this point if any charges will be filed.
