SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- All attention may be on the SU basketball team this week, but the Orange football team is already looking ahead to next season. They'll be heading back to New Jersey this year to take on Penn State at MetLife stadium.

The Orange lost to USC at the stadium last September.

The game serves as the season opener for both Syracuse and Penn State. It also marks SU's first game in the ACC conference, along with their first game under new head coach Scott Shafer. It's part of a 14 game series SU will play at MetLife Stadium through 2038.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, August 31st. Tickets go on sale April 22nd at 10 a.m.
